As you know, you're browsing through the website for the book Korea's Sleeping Ghosts. But what you probably don't know is that this entire website was designed and constructed by Lee Miller's 15-year old grandson, Ben White, who is also my nephew.

It takes a lot of time, planning, and thought (more than most of us know) to design a good website — one that is comprehensive, yet easy to navigate and not crowded-looking. Incredibly, Ben taught himself HTML, then wrote and uploaded the entire code for this site. Everything you see — the text, the buttons, the images, the links — was placed here by Ben. One of my favorite things that Ben did is in the Image Gallery: if you open the gallery, you'll see that the photos appear in a window that makes them looks as if they're taped into an old scrapbook.

In an era when we hear so much about how teenagers don't have the proper respect for their elders and for the sacrifices they made, Ben is one teen who has done a marvelous job of honoring his grandfather and his grandfather's fellow veterans.
